Friends of the Pine Island Library honor volunteers

The Friends of the Pine Island Library hosted seven library volunteers for lunch at the Sandy Hook Jan. 30.
Volunteers, including the inimitable Fran Mills, Cindy Bickford, Carolyn Murphy, Tucki Folkers, Janet Prince, Karen Cartland and Marilyn Moore, donated over 325 hours of their time to the library in 2016.
Volunteers do book-related things such as retrieving books from the book drop and labeling and shelving books and DVDs, and also do outside gardening and plant maintenance.
The library staff and Friends appreciate their time, their commitment and their service to our community.
