Yard Dog Charlie’s ‘Christmas Party on the Bay’ this Friday
Local musician Yard Dog Charlie Kuchler and Island Cafe on the Bay in Matlacha have teamed up for a benefit for the Pine Island Food Pantry.
The party will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, at Island Cafe on the Bay from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“We’re calling it the ‘Christmas Party on the Bay,'” Kuchler said. “This party will get everyone into the Christmas spirit while taking in the view of the most beautiful views and sunsets of Matlacha Pass. We will be collecting non-perishable food to donate to the Pantry. We’re planning raffles, drink and food specials, and anyone that donates food gets raffle tickets.”
The Pine Island Food Pantry has been on the island since 1995. The pantry serves residents of Pine Island and Matlacha and is open Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and closed on holidays.
For those in need of temporary assistance with food, the Pine Island Food Pantry can supply several days of meals to those who qualify. The Food Pantry is located in the Life Center of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church on Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia.
