PIE 5th graders holding pie-in-the-face contest to raise funds for class trip
Pine Island Elementary School’s 5th grade class is wondering if there is a teacher, staff member or principal you would like to throw a pie at? If so, you may just get the chance!
All you have to do is bring in your loose change to Pine Island Elementary’s Cafeteria during the month of November and vote for the staff member you would love to see get a pie in the face! One lucky donor will get to pie the “winning” staff member. Just write your name down on the donor list and you may be picked!
All proceeds will go towards the cost of the 5th grade class’ end-of-the-year field trip to Sea World in Orlando. The students’ Sea World adventure begins on a Thursday evening which will include age-appropriate educational content, standards-based activities and an animal encounter.
Then they will have the chance of spending the night and sleeping next to the sea turtle exhibit. The next day the students will be allowed many more experiences as they get to enjoy the park.
Staff that will be participating in the PIE contest are Mrs. Notarianni, Mrs. Benjamin, Mrs. Schaal, Mrs. Bernard, Mrs. Frahm, Mrs. Garris, Mrs. Whitt, Mrs. Kunkel, Mrs. Renz, Mrs. Summer Dooley, Mrs. Weber, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Costa, Mrs. Stearns, Mrs. Sporney, Mrs. Manguson, Mrs. Linda, Mrs. Glenda and, of course, Mr. Hook!
So, clean out those couch cushions, grab that loose change under the car seats and come on in during the month of November to vote for the staff member you want to see get a PIE in the face!
The “winning” staff member and PIE throwing donor will be notified by Dec. 1 and a PIE day will be chosen in Decem-ber.
