Walgreens’ Get a Shot – Give a Shot campaign to visit Beacon of HOPE
The Beacon of HOPE, along with Walgreens, will be offering fu shots as part of Walgreens Get a Shot Give a Shot campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m., at the Beacon of HOPE.
Walgreens and the United Nations have joined forces to protect millions of children in developing countries from polio and measles. Now through Aug. 31, 2017, for every flu shot or other immunization administered at Walgreens pharmacies, healthcare clinics or Duane Reade pharmacies, Walgreens will donate the value of a life-saving vaccine through the Foundation’s ShotLife campaign.
From July 1, 2016, to Aug. 31, 2017, for every immunization administered, Walgreens will donate $0.22 to the United Nations Foundation, up to a maximum donation of $2 million.
“It couldn’t be any easier for people to get their flu shot,” Beacon of HOPE director Betsy Haesemeyer said. “They don’t even have to leave the island while at the same time they can help protect millions of children around the world from vaccine-preventable diseases.”
The Beacon of HOPE is at 5090 Doug Taylor Circle (in the Industrial Park),
