Legion Auxiliary celebrates National Teachers Appreciation Month
Friday morning, members of the American Legion Auxiliary presented gifts to the teachers at Pine Island Elementary School.
“Teachers give so much to our community and our children,” Auxiliary president Claudine Alvarez said. “The American Legion Auxiliary would like to show our appreciation. In past years the Auxiliary has presented Pine Island Elementary teachers with cards. This year Melissa Myers came up with a different idea so we would like to present the teachers of Pine Island Elementary with 35 hand soaps and fragrances. There is also a poem written for you included.”
“The American Legion Auxiliary has been an excellent partner with Pine Island Elementary,” Principal Steve Hook said. “We share a mutual respect in their recognizing of our servicemen and women and they recognize the importance of quality education in our community. We are very appreciative of their support of our school.”
