Pine Island Lions 6th annual raffle/auction

1 min read

The Lions Club annual raffle / auction will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at the St. James City Civic Association at 3300 4th Ave and Lemon Street. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.

“This is the sixth year for the raffle/auction,” Lions President Mary Vonburg said. “This is a live auction where there is something for everyone. We have Disney tickets, Everblades tickets, Marlin’s tickets, restaurant certificates, tickets for oil changes, boat trips, hotel stays, fishing trips and lots of others.”

Tickets are $50 for the home-cooked buffet of chicken wings (baked), peel and eat shrimp, Hawaiian meatballs and lots of side dishes, plus dip, desserts and coffee. Ice is provided for BYOB.

“Islanders should bring their friends, have your own party, and reserve a table,” Vonburg said. “You have a chance to win $1,000 (1st prize), $500 (2nd prize) and $100 (3rd and 4th prizes), you don’t have to be present to win,” VonBurg said. “So you didn’t win the Powerball, come buy a ticket, odds are better because we only sell 100 tickets. Get yours early before we run out.”
