SWFL PEN Women artists and writers event at Cape Coral Library
The SWFL PEN Women artists and writers are holding an event at the Cape Coral Library that includes four talented women from Pine Island: Gay Cable, Mary Kaye Stevens, Marsha Perlman and JD Daniels.
Cable is a Bokeelia jeweler, Stevens is a St. James City author of books about Pine Island, Perlman is the author of “Spirit Life” and “Taste Life Twice” and Daniels is the author of “Through Pelican Eyes,” “Minute of Darkness” and “Say Yes.”
The National League of American Pen Women began in 1897 in Washington, D.C., when a group of career women decided to organize to promote the development of the creative talents of professional women artists, writers, dramatists, lecturers and composers.
“This is a free event,” JD Daniels said, “where people can stroll through the exhibits of art and books; hear talks by a playwright, a genealogist, an author and a watercolorist. There will also be a panel discussion about ‘Writers on Writing’.”
The event will be held on Monday, Nov. 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Cape Coral Library, 921 SW 39th Terrace, Cape Coral
