2 min read

‘Easy Does It’ Line Dancing – for Beginners is returning to the St. James City Civic Association, and will be held every Monday, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The “dancing” began Monday, Dec. 1.

“There are a multitude of benefits,” organizer Chris Miley said. “I do it because it’s fun and relaxing. The experts recommend line dancing because of all the health benefits including, avoiding dementia, controlling weight, blood pressure, etc. But it really is a lot of fun.”

People are line dancing all over the world, he added, on cruise ships, at weddings, reunions and in their favorite tavern. In fact, it is reported to be the third most popular extra curricula for men and women over 50.

If you are wondering whether line dancing is right for you, please consider the following: You don’t need a partner; no special equipment required, just a comfortable pair of shoes; and no special skills or experience necessary. Line dancing is low impact and may help with many aspects of good health.

Come join the fun! The group will dance to all kinds of music, including country, hip hop, old rock ‘n’ roll, waltz, pop and even a show tune or two.

The cost is $5 for SJCCA members, $7 for non-members .For more information, contact Chris at 810-694-8174
