Friends plan ‘Gigantic Book Sale;’ proceeds to benefit library
Your next treasure might be found at this exciting event. The Friends of the Pine Island Public Library, over 100 members strong, is sponsoring a “Gigantic Book Sale” Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, 10360 Stringfellow Road. The sale runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Items featured in the sale include pieces donated from private collections covering adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction, as well as DVDs, CDs, audio books and videos.
Enjoy coffee, home baked goods and buy drawing tickets $1 each or 6 for $5. Drawing tickets can be purchased at the library Nov. 29 through Dec. 6 and will be available at the book sale. And it’s all for a good cause – proceeds will go towards the purchase of materials and programs for our Pine Island Library.
The Friends of the Pine Island Public Library is a structured nonprofit association of individuals providing for various special needs of the Pine Island Library through community-based efforts. The group tends to the library’s needs, generates new ideas, offers advice and encouragement, volunteers its time and energy, and secures financial support.
