Chiquita Lock to be closed Oct. 22-30 for maintenance
The Chiquita Boat Lock will be closed for annual maintenance Oct. 22-30, according to the city of Cape Coral. No vessels will be able to pass through the lock during this time period, so boaters should plan accordingly. The annual maintenance is necessary to ensure the continued safe operation of the lock.
To help accommodate boaters during this closure, the Cape Coral Yacht Basin at the Yacht Club Community Park is offering temporary dockage on a first-come basis at a cost of $12 per foot (per month). The fee will be prorated to the number of days rented. There are limited spaces available, so plan ahead and contact the Harbor Master’s office at (239) 574-0809 if interested in this option.
