Pine Island Teens Succeed looking for students, mentors
The purpose of Pine Island Teens Succeed is to provide a safe place for students to participate in community service projects, receive homework help and take part in fun group activities. The program is available for students in grades 612.
PITS is also looking for mentors. Kind, caring adults who are willing to spend time with individual students as well as the group as a whole, give homework assistance, track student achievements and form lasting relationships with the students.
Monday Homework Night: 5-7:30 p.m.

Thursday PITS Senior: 2:30-4 p.m.

Friday Festivities: 6-7:30 p.m.
* 30-minute guided activity
* Free time hangout
Students and mentors can apply at the Beacon of H.O.P.E., 5465 Pine island Road, N.W.
For information, call 283-5123. Applicants for mentoring must pass a background check (no fee to applicant).
Students may be dropped off by school bus at the Beacon of Hope and driven home after class.
