The Matlacha Hookers are hosting a Wine Tasting with Cheese Pairings and Decadent Chocolates fund-raiser next month to raise money for the Beacon of H.O.P.E. senior programs.

The event will be held at the Calusa Ridge model home, which is the yellow house on the right after entering the development, Sunday, April 7, from 2-5 p.m.

Tickets, which will be sold in advance, are $20 per person. Only 150 tickets will be sold to those who are 21 years old or older.

The event will include six wine tasting’s – three white and three red – some of which are dessert wines. All the wines will be paired with delicious cheeses and decadent chocolate desserts.

The fund-raiser will also include auctions, which will include a mystery wine auction. The auction tickets will be sold in $5 increments.

The Hookers currently have donations from Andy’s Seafood, a cooking class for 12; Spa 33, a gift basket; Mistos and Sandy Hook, restaurant gift certificates; as well as gift certificates from Paradise Paddling, Island Grill, Total wine and original artwork by Mel Meo for their silent and Chinese auctions.

Those who would like to contribute gift certificates, items from their store or bottles of wine can contact one of the event co-chairs, Arlene Stornello, at 239-745-5723, or Barb Jameson, at 919-333-4441 or 239-283-3153.

Tickets can be purchased at Little Lilly’s Island Deli, Stonegate Bank and Trader’s Hitching Post.

Officials from the Matlacha Hookers and The Beacon of H.O.P.E. would like to thank Roger Schutt of Calusa Ridge for allowing them to use the model home, Rob Kiernan of DFV Wine Distributors for donating all the wines, Publix for donating the cheeses, Winn-Dixie for donating water, chocolates and wine, and Cupcake Express for making desserts.

The Matlacha Hookers, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is committed to making a positive difference in the community.
