Events on the Island: March 7-March 12
Flamingo Bay: March 7
Flamingo Bay will host an informational discussion with the Senior Sleuth volunteers from Seniors vs. Crime on Thursday, March 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. In 1989, the Florida Legislature formulated a crime prevention program involving seniors in educating other seniors about various fraud and scams – Seniors vs. Crime. What began as a crime prevention program involving seniors in the educating of other seniors has evolved into a statewide program providing direct services to seniors who may have been victimized or otherwise taken advantage of by businesses or service providers. Seniors vs. Crime is a free program with a goal to reduce victimization of senior citizens who are often targeted for specific crimes based on their age. So come and learn ways to protect yourself from dishonest people out there who want to separate you from your money. Contact Marilyn at 239.283.4333, at Flamingo Bay if you have questions.
