Freddie

Freddie is another Island cat. We’re guessing he’s between 2-3 years old, and extremely friendly. There is nothing wrong with his tail, it’s characteristic of his breed. He’s a Manx cat. Freddie knows his name and comes when he’s called. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for treats. Come and meet this sweetheart! Call Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary at 239-283-9100.

Photo provided Pepper

This sweet girl was abandoned at Winn-Dixie last week. Her owners left a note that said, “FREE! Front Paws declawed and can’t have babies. I’m 7 years-old and my name is Pepper.” We had the vet check her out and her shots updated. She is sweet, but very confused and of course scared. If you would like to help this sweet girl, please give us a call at 239-283-9100. The carrier she came in is included in the adoption.

Snicklefritz

This 6 year-old tuxedo girl holds the official title of “Longest time spent at the shelter.” (2.5 years) Why you ask? I really don’t know. Snicklefritz is a funny girl. She has her own way of doing things and most times, her way is better. Her silly outlook on life makes her a joy to be around. Like all cats she gets “catitude” when she wants her way, but what cat doesn’t? When she wants you, she rubs her head against yours, and is completely focused on getting your attention. When she’s had enough, she lets you know it. Any experienced cat owner knows how to read those signals and when to back off. Before she got to the shelter Snicklefritz was owned by a bunch of different young adults who passed her on to their friends as soon as their life got too complicated for a cat. She’s been with other cats, kids, and dogs. She can hold her own against any of them and I think that’s where she gets the catitude. If you can provide a loving permanent home for Snicklefritz, call 239-283-9100.

Sissy

Sissy is a 6-year-old kitty that came to us with her brother Lucky. Of the two, Lucky gets all the attention because he is a handsome, fluffy Maine Coon. This is completely unfair because Sissy is a super sweet, affectionate, playful girl that just wants to be loved. She throws herself on her back and rubs against you, when you come near. She wants to be noticed and get her fair share of attention. For this reason, I made her cat of the week. She deserves to be in the spotlight and not just seen as Lucky’s sister. Both kitties are available for adoption at Helping Paws 239-283-9100, together or separately.
