Wreaths Across America ceremony Dec. 15 at Sarasota National Cemetery

Every grave will have a wreath laid on it at the Sarasota National Cemetery this month, the first time since it has opened.

Jill Davidson, Pine Island VFW Auxiliary Treasurer, said a total of 5,200 wreaths were purchased this year, which included all of Lee County.

The Wreaths Across America ceremony will take place Dec. 15 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, which everyone is welcome to attend.

Davidson said they will lay the wreaths at the grave sites at 9:30 a.m., which will then be followed by the ceremony.
