Taste of Matlacha raises $1,500 for Food Pantry

The Taste of Matlacha, which was held Nov. 3, raised $1,500 for the Food Pantry.

Matlacha Civic Association President Bill Stoelker said the real heroes of the Taste of Matlacha were the restaurants that donated the food, so the money raised could go towards the Food Bank.

The restaurants that participated this year included Bert’s Bar & Grill, Miceli’s, Andy’s Island Seafood, Olde Fish House, Perfect Cup, Sandy Hook and Barnhill Seafood Spot.

This was the fourth year the Taste of Matlacha was held and the second highest amount raised. The biggest event raised $1,600.

Stoelker said the Food Pantry has always been the recipient of the event.
