Pine Island Potter’s Guild to hold first sale
The newly-formed Pine Island Potter’s Guild is having its inaugural sale at Koucky Studios on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This inaugural sale is just in time for the holidays and will feature the works of guild members, as well as guest island artists.
Items for sale will include decorative and utilitarian pottery by participating members along with wildlife and landscape prints and painting by Sandra Galloway, jewelry by Nancy Koucky and more. Singer/Songwriter/Potter Annie Wenz will be performing during this informal event along with Pine Island’s own Kip Lawrence. Pottery making demonstrations by members will be on-going during the day. Bring your family and friends for a fun afternoon of Holiday cheer and good will.
The Pine Island Potters Guild is an informal group of potters and pottery lovers. They will meet once a month from November to April at Koucky Studios for a pottery sale, as well as demonstrations and/or informal lectures from members or guest potters. The guild’s purpose is an idea exchange for design, glaze and clay formulas, kiln building, throwing and firing techniques and more.
