Opening set for new Matlacha Bridge

A tentative date for the opening of the new Matlacha Bridge span has been set for Nov. 16-18.

Sarah Clarke, Lee County DOT project manager said the repair work should be completed on Nov. 11.

“When completed, we will test, cycle through bridge openings, for three days,” she said. “Once testing cycle is completed successfully, we’ll proceed with the traffic switch to the new bridge.”
