Almost 100 women attended the Ladies of the Elks annual fall fashion show Nov. 15 to see what the latest styles What 2 Wear, an upscale consignment shop in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, has to offer.

The women were treated to a harvest luncheon at the Elks Lodge prepared by the Ladies of the Elks. The meal featured ham, sweet potatoes, string beans, corn bread and cake before the fashion show began.

The women had an opportunity to purchase the fashions they liked during the fashion show once it concluded. Many door prizes were also presented during the afternoon affair, which included several items and gift certificates from What 2 Wear, as well as Pine Island-themed Christmas ornaments that were hand-painted by Linda Shulz, a Ladies of the Elks member.

Pat Barnhart, Sue Eslinger, Camille Coulborn and Sue Trimble chaired the fall fashion show.

Last year the money raised during the Ladies of the Elks season went to various charities on the island. The Lee County children’s summer camp received $1,250, the Elks Children’s Physical and Occupation Therapy home based program received $500, the students incentive program for Pine Island Elementary School received $500, F.I.S.H. received $1,000 and the Pine Island Food Pantry received $3,000.

The next LOTE event will be held Jan. 24 featuring a comedy act, “Lily Grace Returns.” Lily Grace will be portrayed by Denyea Clarskon, a local actress. Tickets are on sale now for $20 and will include lunch. To purchase tickets, call Yve Malbon at 283-4476, Ann Thomas at 283-0415 or Joan McCaffrey at 283-5379.
