Organizing committee begins preparing for 2013 Pine Island Superstar
The organizing committee for the 2013 Pine Island Superstar held its first meeting on Sunday, Oct. 14. Last year was a tremendous success. The talent contest for “quarters” raised $12,500 for Pine Island charities and organizers want to make it even better in 2013.
The time frame will be the same as last year with the contest held in the month of January and the final show will be on Sunday, Jan. 27. The committee is out this week contacting the host establishments of last year’s shows and developing the calendar for this year.
Last year, organizers had a lot of volunteers to help with the running of the shows and we expect the same this year. Planners are, however, looking for one or two people with organizational skills to help with the initial planning and organization. No singing skills or experience is required!
