Cat of the Week

Steele is a wonderful male kitty who is a little over 2 years old. Steele is one of several cats that Helping Paws took from a bad hoarding situation. These cats have all been quite sweet but many of them spent so much time in cages that they never really learned to be cats. They are now blossoming as they discover open spaces, toys, treats, etc. Steele is a very active kitty who is very playful and loves people. As he is discovering the wide world of Helping Paws, he is very nosy about his surroundings and into everything and anyone new that is around. Steele is a “king of the castle” type cat, because he would expect to be the center of attention in a home. He would do well in any situation, from a quiet home, to an active, busy household; one cat or many. In any case, expect to be entertained by this sweet kitty’s antics!
Cat of the Week

Poor Baron! This handsome 3-year-old male kitty desperately needs a home. Baron loves other cats and has developed strong ties with several other cats at our shelter.
Unfortunately for Baron, each of his “friends” has been adopted leaving him behind. Baron cannot figure out what he is doing wrong because he really wants to be adopted into a nice home with one or more cat companions.
Helping Paws is currently running an “Adopt One, Get One Free” promotion and we can definitely find a good companion for Baron if needed.
Baron is just a nice, sweet gentle young boy looking for a loving home. Please contact Helping Paws at 239-283-9100 and consider adopting this wonderful gentleman.
For those of you who keep up with these kitties, you will be happy to know that former Pet of the week Harlee, our grand old lady, has found a wonderful, loving home!
Cat of the Week

If you come to Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary, you might see a gorgeous tabby off to one side watching you quietly. He may look a little lost and alone, and he is. After having a home for most of his four years, Isaiah is trying to adjust to shelter life and is just plain lost. He was surrendered when his owners moved and has stayed in some temporary housing before making his way to us. Isaiah has been through a lot of change and just wants a permanent home where he will be loved and played with. He is excellent with children, in fact he grew up with an autistic child. He makes an excellent lap cat and enjoys massages if you know how! If you would like to meet Isaiah give us a call at 239-283-9100! (We were experiencing some phone trouble last week. My apologies if you were unable to get through.)
Cat of the Week

Harlee is one of the Grand Old Ladies at Helping Paws. She is 14 years old and looks like a senior cat, as she has the rheumy eyes and somewhat scrawny appearance of an older cat. However, Harlee is an absolute sweetheart of a cat. She loves to be held and brushed and just loved.
It is tough on an older cat like Harlee to be at a shelter. She just wants a quiet place to hang out but is surrounded by somewhat rambunctious younger cats and is occasionally picked on. Harlee really, really, deserves a quiet home to live out her remaining years. She might be the ideal companion for a home bound person or someone who just needs a wonderful, gentle kitty to love. Please consider opening your heart and home (or your mom, dad or grandparent’s home) to this sweetie pie. Call Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary at 239-283-9100.
Cat of the Week

Gilbert is a former Winn-Dixie kitten. After watching all of his friends get taken by a predator he decided he would rather spend his days in safety at the shelter! He is not an ordinary cat. He has what we call the “Gilbert look.” He is adorable in a special “Gilbert” way.
Gilbert likes to pass his time dipping his paw in water and drinking it the “Gilbert way.” He likes to play, but is happiest when being cuddled. This small grey boy will catch your heart the minute you see him. He gets along with other kitties, and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. Call or come to Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary and meet him. He will be the one on the desk with his paw in a cup of water! 239-283-9100
