Author Tim Dorsey to visit Pine Island Library
This Friday, Aug. 24 at 2:30 p.m., The Friends of the Pine Island Library will present popular author Tim Dorsey at the library. Dorsey was last with us in October 2007. His personal appearances are as much fun as his novels. The characters in his books are unique and the focus on Florida history and hidden destinations make his books even more enjoyable. Dorsey loves Pine Island and Matlacha and we always look forward to his visits.
And coming up for the kids we have Wacky Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 29. Bring your children or grandchildren in for great stories and fun crafts. For the little ones, Miss Tonya’s Family Storytimes begin Thursday Aug. 23. They start at 11 a.m. and run on Thursdays through Sept. 27. We have a rockin’ good time on Thursday mornings!
Don’t be confused if you can’t find what you are looking for on your next trip to the library. To better utilize our space we did some shifting. The Genealogy and Florida sections are in new areas and we swapped out the New Books with the Audio Books. We’re getting used to the new arrangement and will be happy to point you in the right direction. We also have a terrific Florida Fossil display thanks to Al Govin. Come in and have a look.
The shelves are full this time of year and we’d love to see you. The library is located just northwest of the four-way stop near Phillips Park and the Museum of the Islands.
