Pine Island American Legion Honor Guard member Dick Thomas presented a photo collage to Barbara Brown of the memorial service held for her late husband, Ray Brown, at the Pine Island VFW Post 4353 on June 23, 2012. Honor Guard members at this service were Gene Gargano, Pete Trazzera, Jerry Congdon, Dick Thomas and Bugler Joey Donkersloot.
The service was conducted by VFW Commander Paul Birdwell and attended by many friends and fellow veterans. Navy veteran Brown’s ashes were spread around the outside memorial as a last request.
The American Legion Post 136 Honor Guard is available for services upon a timely request to the Post Commander Bill “Doc” Brooks or Honor Guard Captain Art Haley.
