The Kiwanis of Greater Pine Island received more “Matlacha Bridge” and “Trophy Fish” Tervis Tumblers, which can be purchased at four locations on the island.

The Tervis Tumblers are $12 apiece and can be purchased at Capital Bank, Stonegate Bank, Island Dcor and Century 21.

The Kiwanis received 250 more Tervis Tumblers with Dot Birmingham’s Matlacha Bridge image and 75 more of Marie Cahill’s Trophy Fish image for purchase.

Robin Parmerlee, Kiwanis member, said the Matlacha Bridge design was the very first tumbler they sold six years ago.

“We brought it back because of the building of the new bridge,” she said.

The Kiwanis choose a design every year that reminds individuals of what Pine Island is all about.

“We never had a failure,” she said of the designs. “We always sell out.”

The Matlacha Bridge design will be carried until the completion of the new bridge. Kiwanis members encourage individuals to purchase the last 75 Trophy Fish Tervis Tumblers while they last.

All of the money raised during the Tervis Tumbler fund-raiser goes towards the organization’s scholarship fund.

Parmerlee said the Kiwanis have been able to put $20,000 in its scholarship fund from the last six years of holding the fund-raiser.

“It has been a great fund-raiser,” she said.
