Happenings at the Pine Island Pool
Wow!!! The summer program is in full swing at the Pine Island Pool. The pool has been packed every day and the swim lessons are going well. One more swim session to go and it’s all full. The pool is now taking registration for fall Saturday lessons starting Aug. 11. Call the pool 283-2220 or go line www.leeparks.org to register.
On Friday, July 20, there will be a Splash Dance from 5-9 p.m. This event is a free to children age 9 to 15. You must know how to swim. Pizza and soda is also free of charge. This all made possible due Bobby Holloway Jr. Foundation and the Matlacha Mariners.
Families, mark your calendars on July 26 for the 1st Annual Family Night. There will be free admission, free food and en-tertainment provided. This event is sponsored by the Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club. The event will run from 5- 9 p.m.
When you come to the pool, please take the time and thank the lifeguards for doing such a great job. The pool has been very busy this summer and operating with short staff at times. They work very hard to keep you and your family safe while you play.
