U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary rep to be guest speaker at Chamber breakfast
The monthly breakfast meeting for the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Little Lilly’s Deli, 10700 Stringfelllow Road, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The speaker for this month’s breakfast will be David McDonough, who is with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 9-10, Cape Coral. McDonough is the past Public Education Officer for this unit. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, and has been with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 25 years.
Topics that will be covered in Mr. McDonough’s presentation will include new boating regulations, operation of personal watercraft, alcohol limits while operating watercraft, fire extinguisher requirements, personal flotation device regulations, and more. He will provide handouts to those attending that are relevant to boating responsibility, and will discuss information on Safe Boating classes through the Auxiliary. At the conclusion of the program, there will be time for questions and answers, and chamber officials will draw business cards for our two “Spotlight Business of the Month” promotion.
