Island Cats Ribbon Winners

1 min read

Two Pine Island cats competed at the 20th annual Platinum Coast Cat Fanciers Cat Show in Fort Myers recently. They were entered in the Happy Household Cats all breed category.

Me-OW, who is a blue and cream Siamese/Tonkinese mix, and Fenway, a classic American Tabby, came home with six ribbons certifying them as among the top 10 cats judged in the show’s progressive competitions. The judging is based on health of coat and eyes, appropriate weight, reflexes and responses to toys and shape determined by breed

Ironically, Me-OW and Fenway are not truly household cats but are awaiting adoption at the Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary, along with almost 100 other cats of varying breeds and ages. Visit the shelter at 10060 Mallory E Parkway, Unit D, in the industrial center from 4 to 6 p.m. or call 822-4876 for an appointment. Donations of food, bedding, litter and cat toys are always appreciated.
