Authorities seek help in finding missing teacher

Authorities are seeking information on a missing Cape Coral teacher.

Amy Patterson, 41, of 16005 Bowline St., Bokeelia, has not been seen or heard from since mid- to late July, according to officials at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. A teacher at Mariner Middle School, she did not report for work when classes began July 25.

Officials are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Patterson.

Detectives also are interested in speaking to Patterson’s boyfriend, Daniel Proctor, 44. Patterson and Proctor lived together at the Bokeelia residence.

According to a missing person’s report, authorities suspect foul play.

If anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of Patterson or Proctor, they are asked to call the LCSO at 477-1000. To remain anonymous, callers can contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).

Officials at Mariner Middle School directed all inquires Tuesday to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lee County School District.

Joe Donzelli, the spokesman for the Lee County School District, said Patterson was hired in August 2010. She taught science at Mariner Middle.
