Showtime for Kids visits the library
The Summer Reading Program in the Lee County Library System brings with it a cadre of lively performers. Two of these visited Pine Island recently.
Jim and Lori Chartier call their company Showtime for Kids. com. This is their fifth year of traveling through Florida. They’ve been on the road in Ohio, however, since the 1990s.
“This is our full time job,” Jim said. “We’re also corporate magicians for adult audiences, still family oriented, although some of those jokes go over the kids’ heads.”
Their show at the Pine Island Library featured balloon sculptures and a tale about the adventures of Wally, the Wacky Word Bird.
Two more shows are planned at Pine Island Library. On July 21 at 11 a.m., Ed Winddancer will explore Native American Culture. His program is sponsored by the Friends of the Pine Island Library.
On July 28 at 2 p.m. the finale is Stories, Tales & Puppets by Windell Campbell.
