Pine Island Chamber building sporting a new look

The Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce building has recently undergone some cleaning and painting on the exterior, thanks to the efforts and hard work of volunteer Leigh Andrews and his wife Genie, who serves as an Ambassador at the Welcome Center during the months when they live in Matlacha.
Leigh presented the idea of a “brighter look” to the entrance of the Welcome Center, then proceeded to pressure-wash the facade, remove faded and chipped lattice, and do the paint work. Not one detail was spared, Genie put in “sweat hours” polishing the brass knob/locking fixture, while Leigh taped, primed, then painted the door and the overhang. This follows the recent landscaping for the entrance by several area nurseries.
Please stop by the Welcome Center — you cannot miss the building as you drive past, with its new “Matlacha/Florida” look!
Thank you Leigh and Genie for all your efforts in assisting our Chamber. We will miss you over the summer and look forward to your return in the fall. Travel safely while you are away.
