Time to vote for the best of the “Best”

2 min read

It’s time again to sharpen your pencils and select who you believe is the best Pine Island has to offer.

For the sixth consecutive year, Pine Island Eagle readers will be asked to cast their votes for whom they believe provides the best in services, as well as food, entertainment and more during the 2011 Best of Pine Island. For the next three weeks, inserted in the pages of The Eagle, are listings in various categories, including best burger, art gallery, lawn care, marina, Realtor, service organization and more. The rules for this year’s ballot are simple. Anyone with an original copy (no photo copies) can write in the names of their favorites in each of the categories and all ballots will be accepted as long as a minimum of 25 categories have been filled in. In addition, we ask that each individual only vote one time and all ballots must be signed by the person who has filled it out as well as an address and phone number in case verification is needed. Completed ballots can be dropped off at the Pine Island Eagle office located in the Island Exchange building north of the island center or mailed to Pine Island Eagle, 10700 Stringfellow Road, Suite 60, Bokeelia, Fla. 33922.

Those dropping off ballots at the Eagle office after hours can do so by using the drop-slot found in the door. All ballots must be returned to the Eagle or post marked no later than Friday, March 4. Any ballots received after March 4 will be void. Be sure to check each of the categories on this year’s ballots as some of them may have changed. We also ask that votes be limited to Pine Island or Matlacha businesses, individuals or organizations only. In the event of a tie, those receiving the same amount of eligible votes will be awarded the honor of the Best of Pine Island.

Once all of the eligible ballots have been collected, they will be sealed and delivered to a impartial party off-island who will tabulate the votes and the results will be posted in an upcoming issue of the Pine Island Eagle. No Eagle in-house staff will be involved in the tabulating of the votes.

For more information or questions, call the Pine Island Eagle office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday at 283-2260.
