Majestic Sounds to sing at First Baptist Church of Pine Island

The First Baptist Church of Pine Island announces a special Sunday night service that will feature Majestic Sounds, a southern gospel quartet. The evening service starts at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20. The quartet will begin the service, followed by the Sunday devotion. Then the quartet will close the evening with additional songs.
Everyone is invited to attend the service. There is no cost to attend, however the church will take up a love offering for the quartet. The service takes place in the 230 seat sanctuary, so every seat will be a good one to enjoy the presentation.
Majestic Sounds is based in Wilmington, Ohio. Bokeelia on Pine Island is one of their stops in Florida. The group formed in 2008 and has recorded several CDs which will be available for purchase after the service.
One member of the group has ties to Pine Island.
“Norm Patterson, the lead singer, contacted me recently to offer an opening to our church in February,” said Sue Simmons, event coordinator. “I knew him as Pastor Patterson when he was pastor at New Fellowship Baptist Church in Bokeelia in the 90s. Everything sort of fell into place for this special night of song at our church.”
Pastor Clint Miller will offer a message during the service.
“We held concerts with the Calvary Men here for several years. Now we have the opportunity to present another southern gospel group-Majestic Sounds. We want to fill up our sanctuary with folks ready to be inspired by song,” said Pastor Miller.
The First Baptist Church of Pine Island is located at 5363 Avenue D in Bokeelia, across the street from the Pine Island Elementary School. Ample parking is available around the church. Free refreshments follow the service.
