KOC turns candy into caring

During a three-day fund-raiser, the Knights of Columbus collected donations in exchange for candy. The annual Tooties Roll campaign held earlier this month and conducted by the KOC successfully raised $1,100 which was then presented to the principal of Pine Island Elementary School.
According to principal Rob Mazoli, this donation will be added to the school’s Needy Fund.
“The school’s needy fund was put in place to help students with things like school supplies, medical needs, glasses, shoes and other items that are needed,” Mazoli said. “This helps to meet some of the needs of our students that might not otherwise be met and we are very grateful to the Knights of Columbus for helping us to meet some of those needs.”
The Pine Island Knights of Columbus meet at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Bokeelia on the first Thursday of the month beginning at 7:30 p.m.
