Chamber welcomes the Pine Island Garden Club

The Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed new members, the Pine Island Garden Club. As its membership continues to grow, members of the Garden Club felt it was time to join other local organizations as members of the chamber.
“Our membership numbers now number well over 100 and since we are a community minded organization, it was decided that it was time to join the chamber. Our community has always supported us and this is our way of letting everyone know how much we support our community,” said Garden Club member Bonnie Kellen. “I know that the chamber will do a great job of promoting our organization, as well as our upcoming Garden Gala and we are pleased to now call ourselves chamber members.”
During the month of February, the Garden Club has been selected to erect a display at the Welcome Center’s business showcase. Members of the Garden Club opted to use this space to not only promote their club, but the Gala as well.
“We decided to use the business showcase to display a beautiful garden wall that was created by Donna Cook, one of our members,” said Kellen. “This beautiful living art is one of many raffle prizes that will be offered at the Gala and it is a great opportunity for people to see how magnificent it is by stopping in at the Welcome Center.”
The Pine Island Garden Club Garden Gala will take place on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Garden Park located two blocks north of the island center.
The Pine Island Garden Club was established in 1975, holds monthly meetings featuring a variety of guest speakers. For more information about the Garden Club, visit pineislandgardenclub.org
