Motorists in Matlacha can expect minor delays this week
Delivery of construction materials for the reconstruction project of the Matlacha bridge will cause minor interruptions in traffic flow this week and motorists are asked to plan trips accordingly.
According to information provided by Lee County DOT, construction materials delivery and unloading will occur between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 11 and 13 . Traffic will be stopped during unloading of trucks and will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
In addition, pile driving will resume during the day this week and is currently planned for Monday, Jan. 10, Wednesday, Jan. 12, and Friday, Jan. 14. Those in the area can expect noise and vibration from the driving.
During the over-night hours from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. one-way land closures will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 11, Wednesday, Jan. 12, and Thursday, Jan. 13.
Creative Coast Concert night in Matlacha, Friday, Jan. 14, construction materials delivery and unloading will also take place between the hours of 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. but it is not expected to affect traffic flow. During the designated hours, traffic however will be stopped during the unloading of materials and will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
