Announcing the winners of this year’s Photography Show and Sale

The second annual St. James City Civic Association Photography Show and Sale was held on Dec. 4. It attracted many new photographers who made entries into the show. There were 165 photographs submitted.
First, second and third place ribbons were awarded in each of three categories and a Best in Show ribbon was awarded for the overall best picture. In the Traditional category, first place went to Carol Wilson, second place went to Gail Edelen and third went to Mary Hirman, with Honorable Mention given to Robert Wilson and Gay Cable. In the same category, Carol Hoyem was awarded three Honorable Mentions.
In the Nature category, Mary Hirman won first place, Ken Johnson second place and third place went to Fred Brazee. Gail Edelen received Honorable Mention.
THe Creative category winners were, first place, Carol Hoyem, second place, Mike Astel, and third place to Karen Sanderson.
Robert Wilson won Best in Show for a large photograph.
The SJCCA photography group, Hotshots, is an island group the meets once a month at the Civic Association, 3300 Fourth Avenue, St. James City. In addition to having fun, the members gather to learn about photography, conduct workshops and programs and go on photo shoots. Photographers of all skill levels, from beginners to pros, are encouraged to join us.
