Lee permit report: October 2010
During October, contractors pulled permits to build 33 single-family houses collectively valued at $5.8 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 23 permits issued in September and 23 issued in October 2009, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Permits were issued for four multi-family units, compared to two in October 2009. The 11 permits issued in October for new commercial buildings were collectively valued at $13.6 million, compared to $4 million in September and $2.3 million in October 2009. The value of October’s commercial permitting is due mostly to an aircraft fire and rescue building at the Southwest Florida International Airport.
