Tropical Storm Richard advisory for Oct. 21
At 11 a.m. EDT, Tropical Storm Richard was moving toward the southeast near 6 MPH. A gradual turn toward the south-southwest and west is expected over the next 48 hours at a slow forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 40 MPH with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast and Richard could become a hurricane over the weekend.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles, mainly east of the center.
