Fun with water at Station #1
Celebrating a last hurrah, Julie Whitt’s fifth grade class was treated to Water Day at Pine Island Fire Station #1 last week. During the morning hours, students participated in numerous challenges involving water. From a bucket brigade relay to a blind water hose challenge, the students and firefighters had a soaking good time. On hand to assist the children were Fire Inspector Jeff Roach along with firefighters Robert Johnson, Jimmy Hotwagner and Gerry Rossman. Following the fun with water, the students were treated to a lunch of pizza at Phillips Park at the island center before return to school.
