VFW to host Car Show March 20
The public is invited to motor on over to the Pine Island VFW this weekend to browse the autos of yesteryear during the organization’s first Car Show.
The Car Show will be from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 20, on the grounds of the VFW, 8150 Stringfellow Road in St., James City.
Owners of automobiles that are 1980 or older are eligible to display at the show and those selected may receive trophies for their entries. Two trophies will be award in each of four categories which include vintage autos dating from 1947 to 1980, pre 1947 and Best of Show. In addition dash plaques also will be presented to the first 30 cars to enter the show. Entries will be accepted on the day of the Car Show from 9 a.m. to noon. The entry fee will be $10 per car and the judging will be done by patrons visiting the car show. Any ties will be determined by the VFW Post Commander. Awards will be presented to the winners at the end of the show.
Food and beverage stands will be set up on the grounds of the VFW and food, as well as adult beverages can be purchased in the Post next to the show grounds.
All proceeds from this event will benefit veterans programs of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
