Pine Island Cove presents donation to Pine Island Elementary

With funds raise during its annual Fun Fest, residents of Pine Island Cove recently made a generous donation to Pine Island Elementary School. The donation of $500 was the result of proceeds derived from raffle sales.
“We are very grateful to the businesses and individuals of our island who gave us donations to make this gift to the school possible,” said event organizer, Karl Macon. “We are very happy to help out the school and the community in any way we can.”
According to Macon, the funds donated by Pine Island Cove are earmarked for the school’s Student Needy Fund.
“Donations such as this one go a long way in helping out our students in need,” said PIE principal, Rob Mazzoli. “With these types of donations we are able to help out families who are struggling financially to ensure that the the children attending school here get what they need. Not only does it help the families of Pine Island, but also has proved to boost attendance which is a great benefit to the kids.”
