Welcoming the youth participants to this year’s Bobby Holloway Jr. Memorial Fishing Tournament, the Bobby Board recently hosted its first kids captain’s meeting. Much like what occurs at the adult captain’s meetings, each of the participating children were treated to an evening of food, fun and goodies.

“Each of the kids was given a captain’s bag. The bags were donated by McDonald’s and each sport the tournament logo,” said Bobby Board member, Elsie Stearns. “In the bags were coupons for free bowling and from Dairy Queen as well as an official tournament T-shirt along with a lot of other goodies.”

Each of the children also will receive a free rod and reel combo courtesy of Cape Tool and Tackle and Total Payroll. Bait for the kids boat’s will be supplied by Center Bait and Tackle for use in the tournament. According to Stearns, more than 25 children participated in this year’s tournament.

Posing for a group photo were many of the youth anglers along with captains Derrick Stearns and Sal Cammilleri, Ernestine Holloway Squires and Elsie Streans with the Bobby Board, Captain Mark Jones, Jen Erikson and Darsey Smith from the Junior Bobby Board, Captains Bill Russell and Billy Glass and Chris Dohme and Ralph Herring with the Bobby Board.
