Woman in fear for her life uses Facebook to bring help
A Bonita Springs woman in fear for her life used Facebook to alert a friend that she needed help. The friend then called 9-1-1 to notify deputies, who responded to the residence and arrested her boyfriend.
Deputies were called to 27020 Adriana Circle #201, Bonita Springs, during the early morning hours of Jan. 25, 2010. The victim stated that the previous evening she was involved in an argument with her live-in boyfriend and father of her child, later identified as Phillipe Edward Alonso.
The victim stated that Alonso smashed her cell phone and dragged her by her hair into the bedroom. The victim says Alonso then threw her onto the bed and placed a pillow over her face, applying more and more pressure on the pillow as she gasped for air. She said there was so much force applied to the pillow that her contact lenses popped out. The victim says Alonso then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to stab her in the chest if law enforcement arrived due to her screams. He held her in the room for approximately an hour and a half, before letting her out of the bedroom to see her son. Alonso then left the residence. The victim stated she feared if she left the residence, she might be seriously hurt or killed by Alonso.
With no working phones, the victim used her computer to contact a friend on Facebook, asking for help. The friend called 9-1-1 to alert deputies to the situation.
Deputies observed several bruises to the arms and legs of the victim…torn clothing and a hole in the knee over the abrasion she suffered and a smashed cell phone on the floor. Alonso, who had since returned to the residence, was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail.
Arrested: Phillipe Edward Alonso, DOB 1-28-71, of 27020 Adriana Circle, #201, charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, Battery by Strangulation and Kidnapping-False Imprisonment.
