St. James City resident attends NLAPW State Conference

St. James City resident Peg Cullen recently attended the Florida State National League of American Pen Women Biennial Conference in Sarasota, Florida. The National League of American Pen Women is the oldest women’s art organization honoring women who have achieved recognition in the arts.
Cullen is president of the Southwest Florida branch. This branch has given art scholarships to worthy young women through the Alliance of the Arts, Fort Myers, given monies to Arts For Act, Fort Myers, to help abused women and children, donated to Cape Coral Library, Cape Coral Caring Center and Harry Chapin Food Bank. The women in SWFL branch are all active, exhibiting artists.
Cullen received an award for excellence for her watercolor “Lorenzo” which was on exhibit during the conference. In addition, the SWFL branch received five of the eight awards of merit. Cullen also will be the featured artist at Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral during the month of December. There will be a free reception on Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Further information may be obtained by calling the gallery at 540-589.
Cullen will also be exhibiting at BIG Arts, Sanibel during the Florida Artist Group exhibit in January.
