Robbery suspects sought
On Nov. 26, 2009, at approximately 1:52 a.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot, located at 545 Pine Island Road, North Fort Myers, in reference to an armed robbery. Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
Once on scene, investigators met with the victim. They learned she was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by an unknown Hispanic male. When the victim tried to walk around the suspect, he pulled out a knife and tried to stab her with it. He missed, but grabbed the victim’s purse instead. The victim attempted to fight back, but the suspect was able to get away with her purse.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’5″, wearing a dark green Polo shirt with blue jeans. He also had facial hair. The suspect was seen getting into a gray SUV and driving from the scene. Photos attached to this email capture the vehicle the suspect left the scene in.
