Getting to know your local bartender: Karen Hite
There are several places to enjoy fine dining in the village of Matlacha. A place where you can expect impeccable service, an expertly prepared meal and perhaps enjoy an aperitif over appetizers or capping off the dining experience with an favorite cocktail.
Among those establishments is the Sandy Hook Fish and Rib Restaurant. Just as you would expect your order from the kitchen to be among the best, your beverages also will be handled with the greatest of expertise and care.
Among those trained bartenders serving patrons of the Sandy Hook is Karen Hite. A resident of Pineland for the last 25 years, Karen and her husband raised their son, Jason, on Pine Island. Previously Karen worked at the Matlacha Oyster House for 21 years, but is very happy with her move to Sandy Hook.
“I love it here. Sandy Hook has a very family-oriented atmosphere and everyone hear has made me feel as though I am a part of their family,” Karen said.
