Slow, normal decrease in fuel prices is expected to continue, barring any major disruption in supply chain

Crude oil stockpiles declined but the current supply of both crude oil and gasoline remains ample despite reductions in U.S. refinery output and OPEC imports, and analysts expect prices of both to decline in coming weeks.

The national average price per gallon of unleaded regular gasoline is $2.57, down 1 cent in the past week. Florida’s average today is $2.51, Georgia’s at $2.36 and Tennessee’s average price also at $2.36 per gallon are all down by 4 cents, 5 cents and 4 cents per gallon respectively in the past week. The price decreases are identical to the ones recorded in each state for the previous week.

Crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) closed Friday at $69.29 per barrel.
