Slight change in anniversary celebration
Special to the Eagle
Kaylee Shirankwa, June Cadawan and Polina Diaz hold plaques presented to them by Soni Koutsoutis, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary to commemorate the girl’s session of Girls State held last summer. Four girls were sponsored to attend the event by the Pine Island American Legion Auxiliary.
First of all, we would like to apologize as there is a slight change in the event of Wednesday, Sept. 16 for the American Legion 90th Anniversary. Food will start at 5 p.m. until gone and the music with “It Takes Two” will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The other three young ladies who went to the Girls State program this past July came to the Auxiliary meeting this week and made their reports. They were excited and very glad to have had the experience of going to Tallahassee.
Don’t forget karaoke on Thursday evening with Dave and Sandy. Friday, Sept. 18 the American Legion Riders will fix dinner. They will serve oriental pepper steak and Wayne and Carla will entertain you. We will no longer have pizza on Sunday.
