Mariner High to rededicate football field tonight
Just prior to the opening game of the football season, a rededication ceremony will be held in the memory of Tony McKenna. the ceremony will take place at the Mariner High School football field at 6 p.m. prior to the game between Mariner and Cape Coral High School. McKenna was struck and killed by lightening on Sept. 5, 1989 while exiting the field during a pre-game practice. The field was originally dedicated to McKenna in November of 1989.
