Hurricane Fred advisory for 11 a.m. Sept. 11

At 11 a,m, AST, the center of Hurricane Fred was located about 740 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands.

Fred is drifting toward the north near 1 mph and little motion is anticipated during the next day or two.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph with higher gusts. fred is expected to continue to weaken.

Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles.
